History of the Korean Orthopedic Association (KOA)
Symbol of KOA This symbol represents that orthopedics rectifies human body and mind as if to straighten a crooked tree
Association Flag The Association decided to manufacture its Flag at the meeting of the Board of Directors in December 1980, ran a design contest via the Journal of Korean Orthopedic Association and got the flag manufactured on September 25 of the same year. With the Association¡¯s mark embroidered in gold color on the blue cloth, the Flag has been turned over to a following president by a former one as a token of transfer of the Association¡¯s tasks since the 36th annual general meeting in October 1981.
Association President¡¯s Medal It was the first Association President¡¯s Medal that was transferred to Jang Ik Yul by Kim Bong Kun at the hand-over ceremony of the 34th general meeting in 1979. Since then, a former president has put the Medal on a next president¡¯s neck at an annual hand-over ceremony.
